1. Bear Brook State Park
With more than 10,000 acres of forests, Bear Brook State Park is one of the largest natural attractions in New Hampshire. It's large area, the variety of activities offered, and closeness to Manchester has helped to make it one of the most visited parks in the New England region.
Visitors can use Bear Brook's extensive trail system to explore the park's diverse geography, which includes forests, bogs, hills, and ponds. Horseback riding and mountain biking are two exciting ways to explore the park and cover more ground, increasing the chances of spotting moose, deer, red fox, and other wildlife that inhabit the forests. The park's lakes also provide a perfect location to relax while reclining in a boat or fly fishing along the shore.
The campground has 101 campsites located in the woods around Beaver Pond. Campers will find boat and canoe rentals, as well as facilities to launch their own watercraft. Some of the amenities offered include restrooms with shower and flush toilets, laundry facilities, an RV dumping station, a bathhouse and a camp store where they can buy supplies. An archery range, ball field, playground, several museums and picnic tables also provide additional recreational opportunities within the campground.
