Nighttime is, for sure, the best time of the day to play games. Being surrounded by complete darkness makes everything better and adds a touch of spookiness to the mix. You can't help but jump at every sound, turn your head around to see if someone or something is behind you. Just because the sun goes down doesn't mean the fun needs to stop, in fact, when nighttime comes around, it means the fun has just begun. There are many games you can play with your friends while being outdoors, but, since it's really easy to run out of ideas, today I'll tell you some of my favorite games to play in the dark. Let's dive in.
While telling ghost stories is not exactly a game, talking about paranormal experiences in the dark is simply one of the things you must do, the whole environment makes the story ten times scarier. If you're going camping in a famous place, I suggest searching for local paranormal experiences other people have had at that place. Tell that story to your friends and see if anyone can sleep later. You can also have a competition, see who can come up with the scariest story.
Hide and seek is a classic, however, have you played it in complete darkness? that's just a whole different level. You can't use flashlights or any source of light. You can only use your senses to guide you through the dark. I'm sure the scare jumps you're going to get will be out of this world.
A lot of people love to play the traffic light, also known as "red light, green light" during the day, but, at night is when things get interesting. For this, you only need to make one red light and one green light. You can use a piece of paper in that color and wrap it around a flashlight, for example. Then, one player has to be the officer, when the officer says "red light" no one can move, and when the officer says "green light" the rest of the players need to run to the officer before the next red light.
For this one, you need some pieces of paper to write the roles of everyone playing. Depending on how many people are playing, you can choose how many murderers, detectives, and victims there will be. Ideally, if you're playing with a small group of friends, pick just one detective and one murderer, the rest of the players can be the victims. Of course, the murderer needs to kill the players without alerting the detective, and the detective needs to catch the murderer before all the victims are dead.
Another classic. If you're really close with the people you're playing with, then take full advantage of that. Make the dares as extreme as they can be and make everyone spill the truths they didn't want anyone to know. This is also a good time to strengthen the friendship, or not.
